Care for Transgender & Gender Diverse Patients: Kevin Ard, MD
Despite increasing visibility and social acceptance, many transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people encounter discrimination when seeking medical care and/or limited knowledge of their health needs on the part of clinicians (2015 U.S. Transgender Survey Report). These negative experiences can result in patients delaying care or not seeking care altogether. This learning module aims to help clinicians build core competencies and better serve TGD patients and was originally created as part of the MGPO Quality Incentive Program (July 2021).
