Jason Barrera, MD. PhD
I am a primary care physician in the Internal Medicine Associates at MGH. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, I studied psychology at Miami University and then completed my M.D., Ph.D at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In 2011, I moved to Boston to pursue internal medicine residency at MGH. Having lived in Charlestown and South Boston, I currently live in West Roxbury with my husband and dog. In addition to taking care of patients, I have strong interests in process improvement and physician well-being. Outside of medicine, I enjoy staying fit (swimming, running, weightlifting), music (playing piano and singing as well as listening to many genres), art (oil painting and drawing) and travel. As a coach, I hope to help my colleagues identify personal and professional goals, create roadmaps to achieving those goals and support them along their journeys. Having spent five years immersed in primary care clinical work, I feel my experience would lend itself particularly well to coaching early career primary care physicians. That said, I look forward to working with a variety of faculty across various divisions and at all stages of career.
