Lori Berkowitz, MD, MBA
I have been at MGH for over 25 years, working as a Specialist in General OBGYN and Subspecialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. I have served as our residency program director of our OBGYN residency training program spanning BWH/MGH and now serve as the Associate Director of our MGB GME office, supporting residency/fellowship program directors, trainees, and faculty in achieving their goals in medical training.
My practice as a physician has been my life's privilege, and one I greatly enjoy sharing with our learners in medical education. I am committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive and engaging work and clinical learning environment to ensure a healthy well-trained workforce in the years to come; to me, this includes significant investment in the well-being of our colleagues, our learners, and ourselves. I pursued coach training in an effort to understand the tools of providing the best possible support to individuals at every level of practice. I have found physician coaching to be an extremely rewarding mechanism to empower colleagues to consider decisions, explore options and realize their agency in attaining their goals, whatever they may be.
When not at work, I can be found at home in Newton with my husband (a primary care physician), son, daughter and our absolutely delicious puppy, Callie.
