The dramatic changes in the practice of medicine, along with the recent years of the pandemic, violence, and isolation, have given many of us pause to examine and reflect upon our lives and our hopes, whether it is our career, health, family, friends, or transitions in our lives. Through coaching, there is the opportunity with safe accompaniment to work on recognizing, articulating, and achieving what you want, whether it be personal goals, career satisfaction, or work-life balance.
My own clinical role has been the practice of urgent outpatient medicine/emergency medicine, global health and humanitarian and disaster response, and I have had a long-standing focus on ensuring resilience for disaster responders. I have facilitated multiple workshops on ‘Leading during Traumatic Times’. I have also had a leadership role at MGH as the Physician Director for Network Development and Integration along with serving on multiple hospital committees.
Having moved through the many different stages of my career with different clinical and hospital leadership positions, and through the stages of life, including raising a family, I have experienced the multitude of pressures that impact a physician’s life and well-being.
I want to ensure that those in service to others have the opportunity to achieve wellbeing for themselves and their organizations while negotiating the myriad stressors that lead to individual and organizational trauma so present in today’s workplaces.
